Bio
New York-based Facets has a passion for all things Dark Synth, Leftfield, Proto-House, EBM, Electro, New Beat, Acid, Italo-Disco, and beyond.
Facets' music has been described as "made for the sweaty confines of the dancefloor's fog-filled spaces—ones that flicker with strobes and neon lights, alight from the energy of the crowd." Hot on the heels of his recent releases on Optimo Music, KRI, Dischi Autunno, Ombra International, Skylax, Soil Records, Khoinix, and Electric Shapes. More original music from Facets will be out soon on Sonic Groove, Pinkman, and more.
Over the years, Facets has released edits on his personal channel and through various outlets, including Calypso's 12" series, Blk Market's 12" Party edits, Death on Wax, Amor Fati, Ransom Note, Hard Fist, Whypeopledance, and Italo Moderni, to name a few.
Facets has been billed with some of the scene's top talent, such as John Talabot, Ivan Smagghe, Ellen Allien, Vladimir Ivkovic, DJ Hell, Moritz von Oswald, Adam X, David Carretta, Lena Willikens, David Vunk, Solar, Kim Ann Foxman, Curses, Perel, Phase Fatale, Eli Escobar, Lindstrom, Interstellar Funk, Reka, Tornado Wallace, Franz Scala, Augustus Muller (Boy Hasher) and lots more. He has played in top underground venues such as Panorama Bar, Bar Americas, RSO, Sunday Sunday, La Terrrazza, Else, Le Rachdingue, Good Room, Public Records, and more, across the US, Mexico, and Europe.
Facets is also the founder of Samo Records and Samo Nights, the club night associated with the label. Over the years, he has booked the likes of Black Merlin, Joakim, Jex Opolis, Zombies in Miami, Manfredas, Sacha Mambo, Wrecked, Sharlese, Hugo Capablanca, DJ Overdose, Patrick Russell, Sharif Laffrey, Jellyfish and more.
His music can be heard in sets by The Hacker, Ivan Smagghe, Optimo Espacio, Silent Servant (RIP), Jennifer Cardini, Erol Alkan, Justin Strauss, Intergalactic Gary, Joakim, Elena Colombi, Alexis Le Tan, Soft Crash, NVST, and others.
Samo Records is a label exploring the darker, moodier side of electronic music. Some of the artists featured on the label so far include Local Suicide, Skelesys, Intergalactic Gary, Mijo, Zombies in Miami, Anatolian Weapons, Franz Scala, Antoni Maiovvi, Fabrizio Mammarella, Balam, Neud Photo and Pixelife, to name a few. He hosts a show at The Lot Radio, which has included artists featured at the label-related parties and/or on previous releases.
Additionally, Facets founded Italomatic, Brooklyn’s premier italo-disco, new wave, freestyle, and synth party, alongside Andi (Synthicide) and Rok One.
